Tony "Polen" Shanklin, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Polen enjoyed listening to music, playing cards, watching old Western Movies, dancing, and having a beer with friends. He was a Christian by faith and was a religious man. Polen was a roofer by trade and worked around the Louisville area for many years. He was in bowling league, loved to fish, and could skate. He will missed by all who knew him.

He was born on March 26, 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia to Tom and Mabel (Kelly) Polen. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Son, Leonard Polen Jr., Sister, Nancy Polen, Brothers, Willie Polen, and Johnny Polen, .

Tony is survived by his Daughter, Darlene P. Ellis, Son, Anthony (Betty) Polen, Son, Michael (Dawn) Polen, Daughter, Cynthia Polen, Brother, Charles "PeeWee" Jones, and Sister, Sarah Raley. Polen also leaves behind to cherish his memory 17 Grandchildren, 96 Great Grandchildren, and a host of Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow in Green Meadows Cemetery.
