He was born on October 14, 1941 in Oldham County, Kentucky to the late John and Margaret Heaton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; and 4 sisters.
John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Regina Heaton; sons, John O. Heaton, Jr. (Jackie) and Dwayne Heaton; grandchild, Syndee Heaton; brothers, Bobby (Wanda) and Vic Heaton; sister, Linda Heaton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of John's life will be on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 3501 College Dr, Louisville, KY 40299.
