Frederick "Fred" Lewis Dewald Sr., 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022.

He was born on May 21, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky to Henry and Helen (Weikel) Dewald. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Dewald, son, Freddie Dewald, Jr, and siblings, Janice Shelton, Henry Dewald, James Dewald and Lawrence Dewald.

Fred will always be remembered for the love and dedication he had for his family. He enjoyed gardening, horse racing, and spending time with his family. Fred enjoyed the simple things in life and was always willing to help anyone in need.

Fred is survived by his loving children, Lisa (Donald) Kihnley, Willie Dewald, and Anthony (Michelle) Dewald, grandchildren, Tiffany (Justin) Shultz, Ashley Farnsworth, Devin Dewald, Heather Dewald, Haylee Dewald, Keiran Dewald, Aaron (DJ) Kihnley, and Sara Hall, great grandchildren, Caden Simcoe, Jordan Farnsworth, Jayden Farnsworth, Landon Kihnley, Peyton Kihnley, Mia Long, and Raegan Long, his sister, Beverly (Paul) Vissing and many other family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). A service celebrating his life will take place at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

The family kindly suggest that expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
