James Kenneth "Jim" Steitz
1939 - 2022

James Kenneth "Jim" Steitz, 82, passed away January 7, 2022. He was a member of Triumph Ministries and Evangel World Prayer Center. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family deeply. Jim began his career as a butcher with A&P grocery store and other grocery chains. He retired after 55 years of service. He was an avid University of Kentucky and a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Jim's favorite place to go vacationing was Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra A. Lucas; parents, Edward and Viola Steitz and brothers, Charles Steitz and Robert "Bob" Steitz.

Jim leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 61 years, Beverly Steitz; son, Jeff (Fronchesca) Steitz, grandchildren, Kelly (Levi) Pinnick, Jason Gall, Chasity Lucas, Kayla Hammons and
Rebekah Duplantis; great-grandson, Destin Steitz; sister-in-laws, Pat Steitz and Dorothy Speer; brother-in-laws, Bud Schweitzer, Lawrence Schweitzer and Anthony (Drema) Schweitzer; his faithful fur baby, Mercy and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, January 24, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 4pm-8pm. A celebration of Jim's life will be Tuesday, January 25, 2022, beginning at 12pm.

Jim will be laid to rest at Louisville Memorial Gardens - West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.
