In Memory Of
Ernest Powers "Shorty" Shingleton
1970 - 2022

Ernest Powers "Shorty" Shingleton, age 51 of Shelbyville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022. Shorty loved to walk the Brown Farm in Shelbyville, as this was his peaceful getaway. Here he was able to speak with God and had time away from life's everyday worries. He and his brother-in-law Matt would work on different tasks on the farm and at times just stop and enjoy the peace and fresh air. He wanted one day to move to Tennessee. He loved his grandchildren but time got away too fast to enjoy them more. He loved visiting his sister and playing basketball with his nephews Noah and Matthew and spending time with his nieces and pick on them: Danielle, and Nancy. Shorty lived too far away to spend much time with his little brother Michael and wife Anna, but did talk with them on the phone often. His Mom Kathy was the rock and cornerstone of what helped him each and every day get through the tough times he battled. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Shingleton in 1994.

Shorty's family loved him dearly and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by loving Mother, Kathy Shingleton (Ed Ross); daughters, Ashley Flener and Lindsey Shingleton; grandchildren, Wyatt Flener and Brooklyn Henry; sister, Darlene Booth (Matt); brother, Michael Shingleton (Anna); nephews, Matthew Booth (Rullia), Noah Booth, Gabriel Shingleton and Caleb Shingleton; nieces, Nancy Booth (Ray), Danielle hart (Mike) , great-nieces Carrie and Delilah, great-nephew, Jeremiah, and Kathryn Shingleton; and a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of Shorty's life will be at 2pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Crossroads Lighthouse Church 220 Clear Creek Road Eminence, KY 40019.
