She was a graduate of UK and UofL and worked in healthcare administration for the majority of her life. She was an avid sports fan, loved spending time in the kitchen, and her vibrant sense of humor always brought bright energy to anyone she was around.
She is preceded in death by her spouse, John Shircliff III, and her parents, George and Josephine Knoop.
She is survived by her two children, McKenzie and Lake Shircliff; her four sisters, Karen Heil, Kathy Staples (William), Karyl Belza (James), and Kelly Knoop; as well as a host of relatives and many friends.
The family would like to recognize and thank her nurses and staff at the James Brown Cancer Center.
A gathering to celebrate Karlene's life will be 4 to 8 pm on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A Mass of Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 4th, at 10 am at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, located at 760 Eastern Parkway, Louisville, Kentucky 40217. A visitation will be held prior to Mass at 9 am.
Memorial gifts may be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
