In Memory Of
Vivian Irene McDowell
1942 - 2021

Vivian Irene McDowell, age 79 of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. Vivian was born in Patterson, New Jersey on January 10, 1942 to the late Riley Houston McDowell and Lillian Irene Greenwell. She moved often throughout her life, living in New Jersey, Texas, California, Kentucky, Florida, Indiana and Georgia. Her greatest accomplishment besides her children, was to complete college courses in her 30's to become a licensed practical nurse. It is here that she found her calling in life. It was caring for others where she was at her best.

Vivian was a devout Christian that sought to mirror the life of her Lord and Savior in everything she did. She was a humble, loving friend to many and always had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh to greet the world. She had many friends that lasted throughout her lifetime. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Lane and Geraldine Mulligan; her brother, Kurt Reddock; and her twin infant sons.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, David Owen (Hannah), Michael Parsley and Christopher Parsley (Kathleen); her beloved grandchildren, Jackson and Olivia Parsley; her sister, Charlene Cooney; her brother, Charles Ferguson; many nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that shared in her life.

A gathering to celebrate her life well-lived will be from 2 to 6pm on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.

Memorials may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
