In Memory Of
Joann "Josie" Edwards
1946 - 2021
Edwards, JoAnn (Josie), 75, entered eternal life on Thursday, July 15th at home in Louisville, Ky.
JoAnn was born March 19, 1946, in Vine Grove, KY, a retiree of Ford Motor Co. and a member of The Lord’s Chapel. She met the love of her life, Budgie, at Churchman Chapel in Louisville, KY. They were married for 30 years on Christmas Eve which was her favorite time of year. JoAnn loved the Lord with every fiber of her being and her heart’s desire was always for others to ask Jesus in their heart. She was the queen of hospitality and had a gift of making everyone she met feel special. Her laugh was contagious and her sense of humor was almost “Lucy-ish”. It was a treat if you had the opportunity to sample her cooking. Cinnamon rolls, potato or chicken salad were just a few of her specialties. She was a woman of great class and will be missed immensely!!!
She is Preceded in death by her Husband, James "Budgie" Edwards, Mother, Thelma C. Mills, Father, Kendrick Mills, Brothers, Joseph A. Mills Sr., and Michael Mills.
She is survived by two daughters, Gina Rickner (Steve) and Tyra Perciful (Mark) and a son Scott Bruner; six grandchildren Kayla Marshall (Don), Micah Perciful, Steven Perciful, Trey Rickner, Zackary Rickner and Aiden Rickner; and 3 three great grandchildren Dallas, Peyton and Houston Marshall. Brothers, James “Jess” (Bobbye), Gene (Judy) and William K. (Nena) Mills; and sisters, Mary (Jim) Harbison, Linda (Greg) Stith and Theresa (Al) Elliott
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions- Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway).
