James "Jim" J. Lightcap, age 50 of Louisville, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021.

He was born on January 28, 1971 in Rockford, IL to William Edward and Carol Anne Lightcap. Jim grew up in Marshall County, KY and was a graduate of Marshall County High School. He grew up loving the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and camping. Jim was a member of Southeast Christian Church where he served as a Communion Leader and where he baptized both of his children. He loved spending time with his family and was involved with his children's sports and with cub scouts. Jim never met a stranger, which lead to many friendships over the years.

Jim is preceded in death by his father, William Edward Lightcap.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Lori Dunn Lightcap; children, Emma and William Lightcap; mother, Carol Lightcap of Marshall County, KY; siblings, Tim Lightcap of Illinois, Tim Lightcap of Tennessee, and Kim Watkins of Arizona; and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 12 to 2pm Monday, April 12, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A celebration of Jim's life will be at 2pm at the funeral home.
