Lovell Nelson Newton, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

He was born on July 28, 1938 in Guston, Kentucky to the late Richard and Pearl (Peek) Newton. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Wanda Mae (Hughes) Newton, brothers; J.W. Newton, Jody Newton, Hobert (Buck) Newton, Ike Newton, Alton Newton, Pierce Newton, Claude Newton, Ted Newton and sisters Louise Kendall, Elizabeth Thompson, Reba Decker and Rosie Thompson.

Lovell dedicated his life to the service of others, working as a Funeral Director and Embalmer across the state of Kentucky and parts of Tennessee. He was a very gentle and kindhearted man who could say a lot with very few words. Lovell was very meticulous with his work and took great pride with the families he was called to serve. He was also a Master Mason with the Irvington Lodge 868. Lovell was a member of Bewleyville United Methodist Church in Irvington, Kentucky.

Lovell is survived by his children, Martilla "Marty" Newton, Phillip Scott Newton, Karen (Tim) Wilkerson, Sarah Tucker and Omer Dale Newton, grandchildren Tyler Dale Newton, Angela Marie (Wilkerson) Goeing (Daniel), Bobby Morris, Crystal Gale Newton and great-grandchildren Rebecca Lynn Goeing, Christopher Dale Bayens.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions 235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243.

Visitation will also be from 3:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 pm on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the funeral home.

The family requests that contributions in Lovell’s memory be made to Hospice Care of Louisville.
