Larry E. Schroeder, Sr., 80, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at his home with his family by his side. Larry was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and the Clark County Coon Hunter's Club. He loved coon, rabbit, squirrel, and deer hunting, was a master carpenter, and enjoyed growing a garden and canning the produce from his harvest. He enjoyed cooking, baking, and being with his three dogs, Holly, Molly, and Gigi.

He was born on November 2, 1939, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Edward and Nettie (Wolfe) Schroeder. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepsons, Richard Renn and Michael Newton; brothers, Eddie and Donnie Schroeder; and sister, Janice Gephart.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Helen Schroeder; children, Larry E. (Nikki) Schroeder, Jr., Kimberly Boyer, Jeffrey (Mary) Schroeder, Julie Schroeder, Sherry Fitz, and Melanie Schroeder; stepchildren, Bobbi Carlton, Rick Renn, Adam (Stella) Renn, Anthony (Dawn) Renn, Debbie (Steve) Finley, Victor Terry, and Missy Sparks; siblings, Allen (Penny) Schroeder, Vonda Hardin, Brenden Schroeder, and Terry (Brenda) Schroeder; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. His Funeral Service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with cremation to follow. He will be laid to rest with military honors at a later date at the Hibernia Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions in Larry’s memory be made to the J.B. Ogle Animal Shelter in Jeffersonville.
