Willie Ray Wells, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

He was born on April 7, 1942 in Letcher County, Kentucky. Ray worked for 32 years as a Concrete Finisher with G.R. Wilson Construction. He was a die hard Browns fan and his family and friends will always remember the excitement around the house when there was a Browns game on. He had a love of the outdoors and he never lost sight of the simple things, like watching the birds or drinking his coffee. Ray's family always came first, the best gift he could receive would be to have all of his family under the same roof. He was a well loved husband, dad, papaw, brother, and friend who will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents,Curt and Rachel Anderson; siblings, Robert, Sonny, Brose, Carlos, Violet, and Jean; and nephews, Jeff and Jimmy.

Willie is survived by his loving Wife of 39 years, Stacey Wells; daughters, Jodi (Robert and daughters Morgan and Bailey) Thompson and Rachel (Shane) Wells; son, Willie (Inisha and her daughter Adalyss) Wells; grandson, Isaac Thompson; siblings, Emma Cole, Wilma June (Bill) Baker, Hershel (Carolyn Anderson) Anderson, Mabelene (Winston) Hammons; and numerous extended family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive) with cremation services to follow.

The family requests that contributions in Willie’s memory be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
