1942 - 2020

Norbert Ray "Nobby" Bostock, 77, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Nobby was a past member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a current member of Northside Christian Church. Nobby was proud of his community and was a member of many organizations to make it a better place to live. He was a retired member of the Floyd County and New Albany Police Departments, a charter member of the N.A. Township Little League, a past City Council Member, a member of the F.O.P Lodge, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard and was an avid sports enthusiast, hunter, and golfer; and family man. He was a semi-pro baseball player; ran two New York City Marathons and several mini-marathons, and was highly active in the Special Olympics in support of his daughter, Kathleen.

He was born on November 9, 1942, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Marion Bostock, Sr., and Doris (Hasenstab) Bostock Williams. Along with his parents, Nobby is preceded in death by his siblings, Marion Bostock, Jr., Midge Scribner, Beatrice Sinex, Robert Bostock, and Marvin Bostock, Sr.

Nobby is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Bostock, Crystal Bostock, Kathleen Crumbo, Melissa Bostock, and Angi Bostock; partner-in-life, Donna Wells; siblings, Larry (Thelma) and Dale Bostock; grandchildren, Michael Nelms, Ryan Nelms, Kyle Nelms, Jasmine Bostock, Gracelyn "Gracie" Bostock, and Wyatt Small; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 23, 2020 and will continue from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2020 at the Tri-County Shrine Club (701 Potters Ln, Clarksville, IN 47129). His Memorial Service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday at the Tri-County Shrine Club with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery in New Albany.

The family requests that contributions in Nobby’s memory be made to the St. Mary's Center and/or Special Olympics.
