1945 - 2020

Linda M. (Brinley) Hood, age 74 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Linda was born April 14, 1945 to the late Effie and George Brinley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hood; son, John W. Hood; daughter, Rebecca Hood; brother, Charles Brinley; sisters, Jean Burgess and Judith Pierce and companion, Leon Lewis.

Linda is survived by her loving daughters, Cynthia Thorpe (James) and Pamela Elgin (Kenneth); siblings, George Brinley (Darlene) and Donna Smith (Danny); grandchildren, James R. Thorpe (Desiree), Linda Thorpe (Larry), Daniel Thorpe, John Eric Hood, Bradley Hood, Ashley Elgin (Tony) and Casey Heath (David); 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and her Hood family whom she dearly loved.

This beautiful woman was loved by everyone who knew her and was the true definition of all that is good in this world.

Visitation will be 1 to 6 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243 (in Middletown) and also on Monday, January 27th from 11am to 2:30 pm. A celebration of Linda’s life will be at 2:30 pm at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Jeffersontown.
