James "Fishman Jimi" Smith Jr., 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020. James proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War earning a Bronze Star. He was a Proud Member of the Local Union 576, where he was a Foreman. In his pastime he enjoyed the park, joy riding, and in his younger years sold fish.

He was born on October 17, 1949 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to James Smith Sr, and Amanda (Ross) Cole. He is preceded in death by his Parents, and Brother, Dexter Cole.

James is survived by his loving Wife of 25 years, Brenda Smith, Daughters, Mary Smith, Jean Smith, Amanda Smith, Deborah Smith, and De'Von Wright, Sons, James (Amanda) Smith, III, Joshua Smith, and William (Shelia) Dale, Siblings, Paul Smith, Pauletta Chambers, Diane Smith, Alice Cole, Carol (Broderick) Towns, Brother, George Smith, Sister, Marilyn (Bud) Cooper, Step-Mother, Elzerine Smith. James also leaves behind to cherish his memory, 12 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel with burial and Military Honors to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Radcliff, KY.
