1927 - 2019

Bradley Robert Swearingen, Sr, 92, of Berrytown, Kentucky passed away on November 12, 2019. Absent from the body, present with the Lord.

He was born on October 17, 1927 in Shepherdsville, Kentucky to the late Charles Henry Swearingen and Eva May Swearingen (Roberts). He is also preceded in death by his wife Betty; son Barry, and siblings Susan Graves, Betty Owens, Charles Swearingen, Edna Mulligan, Billy Swearingen and Bardenia Skinner. Bradley attended First Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church in Anchorage. He professed Christ as his savior.

Bradley was very active in his church serving as a deacon. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Bradley attended Bowman Valley School in Shepherdsville, KY. He was employed as in Truck Driver, a profession he retired from in 1985, a longtime teamster in Local 89.

He was an avid fan of baseball and the Cincinnati Reds. He loved watching westerns on TV. He enjoyed traveling taking the family on trips in the RV to the World's Fair and Mount Rushmore.

Bradley is survived by his sons, Bradley Jr. (Terry), Brady (Nicole) and Brian Swearingen (Jerry); grandson, Bradley III; granddaughter, Elisha Brienna (Charles) and great-grandson, Charles William Hite, IV; sisters, Lillie Dunbar, Charlotte Kiggins, Jackie Martin; brother, Carl Swearingen; and a host of additional family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243), with a service to honor the life of Bradley to follow at 1 pm at the funeral home.
