Charles Eugene "Charlie" Salisbury got his heavenly wings on Monday, September 30, 2019, flying high with our love. Charlie, as he is know by everyone, was 73 years old and a disabled Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at Belknap Bluegrass Hardware for 22 years and J&S Builders for five years. Charlie was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3281 in New Albany and a member of Tunnel Hill Christian Church in Georgetown, Indiana.

He was born August 13, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Eugene and Elizabeth (Hanks) Salisbury. He was married to Patricia "Pat" (Wetzel) Salisbury on September 30, 1967. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, David Salisbury.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pat Salisbury; one daughter, Melissa "Missy" Walker (James) of Clarksville, Indiana; one son, Christopher "Chris" Salisbury (Toni) of Georgetown, Indiana; four grandchildren, Shawn Cassidy (Steven), Allison Gannon, Kevin Scott, and Eric Salisbury; two great-grandsons, Ethan and Levi Cassidy; brother, William Salisbury (Roynettie) of Indianapolis; and two sisters, Roxanna Gragg and Melanie Salisbury.

A Celebration of Life will take place on October 13, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at Tunnel Hill Christian Church (5105 Old Georgetown Road, Georgetown, IN 47122). His ashes will be buried on October 14, 2019, at 9:00 a.m.at the National Cemetery in New Albany with full military honors.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Wedgewood Healthcare Center for the loving care and kindness they gave him during the seven years that he resided there.
