Calla Woods obituary: Calla Woods's Obituary, Kentuckiana
In Memory Of
Calla Adelaide Woods
In Memory Of
Calla Adelaide Woods
She was born on October 1, 2009, in Urbana, Illinois, to Benjamin and Crystal (Joseph) Woods. Along with her parents, she is survived by her loving brother and sister, Ezra and Lilah Woods; grandparents, Jim and Kathy Woods and Lalu and LuAnn Joseph; aunts and uncles, Tim and Sarah Payne, Jonathan and Ronnie Woods, and Matthew and Cherie Joseph; cousins, Tristan, Justus, and Titus Payne, Ava and Caleb Joseph, and Zachariah, Jeremiah and Margaret Woods.
Calla is a vibrant, beautiful, kind, and joyful spirit; she loves her family, her church, her friends, and, most importantly, she loves Jesus fiercely. Throughout her short life, Calla’s love for others was expressed in so many ways. She was a natural includer, a leader at her school and her church, and a friend to everyone who crossed her path. Her friendly, buoyant personality and her unwavering dedication to God pointed so many to the King she served with her life. Though aggressive brain tumors ended her time on earth, Calla was healed in heaven, rescued by her King, and set free to enjoy her reward and inheritance as a loved child of God.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Northside Christian Church (4407 Charlestown Road, New Albany). Calla’s Homecoming Celebration Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the church. The Woods family will lay Calla’s body to rest privately at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Calla’s memory can be made to Forget Me Not Ministries (www.fmnministries.org), a ministry that serves, leads, and loves at-risk children in Tinca, Romania. Calla’s dream was to go and serve with FMN, and the important work done there has always been near and dear to her heart.
