1951 - 2019

Maurice "Reese" Gibson arrived on September 7, 1951, in Louisville, KY to Reuben and Helen Jeffries Gibson. Both preceded him in death. He transcended on July 10, 2019, at Hosparus Health of Louisville, KY at the age of 67.

Maurice received Christ at an early age at West Chestnut Street Baptist Church. He attended Virginia Avenue, Stephen Foster and Central High Schools in Louisville, KY. Along with serving in the US Army, Maurice worked briefly for the Louisville Metro Parks and Gateway Press. He was a die hard Louisville Cardinal basketball fan, an avid tennis player and even taught his sons to play. Maurice had a love for life, his sons, grandson, his family, life long friends, Chickasaw Park, telling jokes and of course Rock N Roll.

He leaves to celebrate his Home-going, his two sons, Maurice and Marlon Bond; grandson, Myron Gurchiek; brothers, Daryl and William (Deborah) Gibson; sisters, Toni Gibson, Constance Gibson and Vanessa Ellis; aunt, Christine Washburn and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and many friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 4pm-6pm with a celebration of Maurice's life beginning at 6pm.
