Mary Anne Popp, 89, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019.

Born in New Albany, Indiana, the daughter of John and Hazel (Brown) Fein. She attended grade school at St. Mary's in New Albany and was a band member there. She graduated in the class of 1948 at New Albany High School and in that year was on the student council to help develop the WNAS Radio Station. Mary graduated from New Albany Business College and became a legal secretary and then worked in the law office of John Cody and for the attorney Kenneth Hay in the Elsby Building. She went on to marry Herman Popp, Jr., in 1951 and became a mother to three children. After becoming a widow in 1986, she went to clown school and was in the Harvest Homecoming and other events. Mary worked at the Target on State Street for 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Daughter's of Isabella since the age of 18 and was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survivors include her Son, Brian; Daughters, Karen (David) Schafer and Linda; Sister, Jane (Rich) Becht; and her nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband, Herman Popp, Jr.; Sisters, Martha Burns and Betty Sue Chamberlain; and Brother, John Fein.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
