1943 - 2019

Leslie Claire Williams, age 75 of Crestwood, KY, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019. She was born in Colorado Springs, CO, the daughter of an Army pilot and the oldest of 3 sisters traveling much as the child of a military officer. She attended Radford University and shortly after graduation met the love of her life, Clifford Wilson Williams in Alexandria, VA who was beginning his career in the US Navy. They set off to travel the world together, stationed in Japan, Alaska, California, Virginia, and Texas to name a few. Leslie was a loving wife who became a devoted mother of two children. She lost the love of her of life in 1984, and being the fighter she was, decided to pursue her Master's degree in Education and teach young children.

She became a grade school teacher in the Henry County school system and was a member of Calvary Baptist church. She enjoyed painting, gardening, studying the bible, antiquing, and caring for her West Highland Terrier, Duffy. Leslie was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Wilson Williams; her father, Byron Atherton Hopper; and her sister, Judith Ann Mavredes.

Leslie is survived by her daughter, Barbara Kay (Steve) Johnson; her son, Jason Byron Williams; two grandsons, Donovan Alec Williams & Julien Clifford Williams; her mother, Barbara Tuntland Pond; and sister, Laura Beth Hopper; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 pm on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church 1659 Mt. Olivet Road, LaGrange, KY 40031. A celebration of Leslie's life will be 10 am Tuesday, May 14th at the church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Irvington, Kentucky at 3 pm Eastern Time.
