Robert Louis Roberson, Jr., was born April 5,1934, in Hickman, Kentucky, to the late Ruth King (Bledsoe) and Robert Louis Roberson, Sr. Robert was raised, most of his life, in New Albany, Indiana.

Robert had one son with the late Joan Molin Harris who proceeded him in death. He later married Frances E. Stevenson (Ray) and from that union had two daughters.

Robert was a free-spirited person most of his life. Robert worked several jobs, mostly as a server. He loved to hang out with friends including his best friend David Coe and nephew Trevor Smith.

Robert departed this life on Thursday, March 14, at the age of 84 years and 24 days. Robert was proceeded in death by his beloved mother, Ruth King (Bledsoe); father, Robert L. Roberson, Sr.; son, James “Gary Roberson”; two sisters, Miriam Priscilla Roberson and Mary W. "Billie" (Love) Smith; aunts, Mary Malone and Autumn Turner; uncles, Rev. Truxton A. King, Herman J. “Bud” King, Robert H. King, Sr., and Dr. Marshall King; nephew, Christopher Todd Smith; grandparents, Rev. Herman Augusta King, Nellie Adams King, and Charlotte Ray King.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Teresa R. Cobb and Yvonne R. Chandler (Wayne), Indianapolis, Indiana; aunt, Maude King; nephews, Damon Patrick Smith (Cheryl), Indianapolis, Indiana, and Trevor Scott Smith (Sherry); niece, Ann Smith, New Albany, Indiana. He had 15 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great grandchildren. A host of cousins, great-nieces and -nephews loved Robert.

A reception of family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his memorial service taking place at 1:00 p.m.
