Mrs. Beatrice M. Simms, age 84, was born August 1, 1934, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William Elmore Morton and Vertie Morton.

Know to most as Bea, she received her education in the Jefferson County Public Schools. She was a member of the original Five Girls of Harmony from Mount Lebanon Baptist Church where she sang alto. She retired from working in the cafeteria of the public school system in 1995. She showed exceptional talent as an avid seamstress, barber and beautician. Her hobbies included, playing the piano, singing, and working on home projects where she learned much of her skills working with her dad. She was devoted mother to her children, in-laws and also to nephews, nieces, grandchildren and their friends.

Besides her parents, her transiton was preceded by her siblings, Elmore Morton and Hattie Mae King and her son, Robert L. Simms, Sr.

Bea leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Terry L. (Ravan) Simms of Oak Ridge, Missouri, Darlene B. (LeRoy) Simms, Adrienne A. Simms, Eric C. Simms and LaTonja V.S. (Brian) Thompson of Jeffersonville, Indiana; a niece, Pamela L. King; nephew, Walter L. King, Jr; grandchildren, great-grandchildren,cousins and friends.
