She was born on December 2, 1935 in Anchorage, Kentucky to late Tandy and Bertie (Ellis) Jennette. She is also preceded in death by siblings Raymond, Edna, Henry, Clarence, Walter, Marie and Lee.
Irene worked at G.E. Appliance Park for 15 years, later working and retiring after 16 years of service from the Louisville Police Department in the Major Crimes Unit.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Shellie Ann Belcher (Billy Keith), sister Juanita Jennette Rapp, grandchildren; William Joseph Belcher, Nathan Wesley Belcher (Maranda) and a great-granddaughter on the way Nevaeh Jean Irene Belcher. She is also survived by many family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the funeral home.
The family requests that contributions in Irene’s memory be made to the family in the name of Shellie Belcher.
