Michael "Duane" Flaherty
1939 - 2019

Michael Duane Flaherty, age 79 of Louisville, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019. Duane was born August 14, 1939 in Louisville to the late Michael Herbert and Anna Maria Nappier Flaherty. He was married to his loving wife of 39 years, Havlyn Bea Flaherty who passed away in 2015. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and watching football. Duane was a carpenter by trade and a Catholic by faith. He was a Mason and a member of Boaz Lodge #850. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles, Gene, Donnie and Robert Flaherty and Patsy Slaton, June Kelly & Jeanette Flaherty.

Duane is survived by his daughter, Delores Jeannie Asher; son, Michael Todd Flaherty (Felicia); grandchildren, Michael Craig Flaherty (Lauren), Melinda Barger (Nick) and Adam Asher (Amber); 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Nicky Flaherty (Barbara); sisters, Brenda Vincent (Eddie), Nancy Branstetter (Kenny) and Gayle Parrish.

Visitation will be 10am to 1 pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A celebration of Michael’s life will follow at 1pm Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial to follow in St. Michael Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hosparus for their wonderful care of Duane.
