In Memory Of
Billie Marshall "Bill" Herron, Sr.
1941 - 2019

Billie Marshall “Bill” Herron, Sr., 77, of Otisco, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019. He was a lifetime member of Local Union #110 Sheet Metal Workers. Bill was a five time past Master of Masonic Lodge #167 in New Washington, Indiana and a devoted member and Worthy Patron 25 times of the Eastern Star in Indiana and Kentucky, and presiding Worthy Patron of Blazing Bright Chapter #597. He loved to fish with friends, visit casinos, and enjoyed going on cruises.

Bill was an avid fisherman and loved sharing this experience with many of his friends. Casinos were a main attraction for Bill and Mary Ann. They would go out of their way to see what was around the next slot machine. Vacation cruises were a must and memories well treasured. When it came to his grandchildren, Bill excelled in teaching them many necessary skills and bad habits. If there was a party, Bill was there, especially if ladies were involved. Bill was a wonderful husband, grandfather, friend and companion; just ask Sparky his dog, who is searching the house and grounds waiting for his return.

He was born on September 27, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Rhoda and Cassie (Brockman) Herron. Bill was also preceded in death by his siblings, Douglas Herron, Nancy Gamble, Carol Rodford, Charlene Laws, and Magdalene Hale.

Bill is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary (Reed) Herron; children, Billy Herron, Jr., Cindy Riekens, Vadra Sprague (Tony), Diddle Herron; sisters, Betty Decker (Ray), Linda Bunch; grandchildren, Holden, Baylie, Spencer; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a time for sharing taking place at 6:30 p.m. followed by Eastern Star and Masonic services at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Bill’s wishes.
