Charles William “Charlie, Bill” Stroud, 81, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Monday afternoon at 3:33 p.m., January 7, 2019. He retired from Harbison Construction after 41 years of dedicated employment. Charles enjoyed both fishing and gardening. He was a great provider for his family and was always active in the lives of his children.

He was born on December 18, 1937, in Crawford County, Indiana, to the late William and Veneda (Gilliatt) Stroud. Charles was also preceded in death by his wife, Murty “Jane” (Lawson) Stroud.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Bridgette McCullum (Tom); sons; Chuck (Kelley), Jeff (Brittany), and Richard (Melissa) Stroud; siblings, Betty White, Eunice Swartz, David Stroud (Joan), and Mary White; grandchildren, Amy, Elisha, Sarah, Jeremy, R.W., Shelby, Alysha, Stephanie, Samantha, Hank, Bryce, and Hudsyn; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery.
