Oliver preceded her in death, also her father, mother, sister, 3 brothers, 1 granddaughter, 2 great grandsons, and 1great great grandson. In 1968, she joined the Dayspring Missionary Baptist Church (formerly Paul C. Cayce) under the pastorate of her late husband, Rev. O. W. McClain.

Margaret was faithful in her service to God and her church. When Dayspring (formerly Paul C. Cayce) was first organized, she was the first secretary, the first treasurer, the first Sunday school superintendent, and a faithful usher until her health began to fail.
