Daniel Webster Echternach, age 86 of Louisville, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018. He was born on October 21, 1932, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Daniel and Ruth Malloy Echternach. Daniel was an Army Veteran, a member and deacon of Westport Road Baptist Church, President of Purchasing Association 1970-1971, President of the Middletown Optimist Club 1980, former Middletown Recreation Association Commissioner Coach and Board Member, Judge for Junior Achievement 1969-1970, a Kentucky Colonel, former owner of the Bike Barn in Middletown and co-founder of the local chapter of the BMX Racing Association. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Highberger.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Terri Kirk Echternach; children, Marc Allen Echternach (Dawn) and Martha Ann Horrar (David); sister, Olivia Steele; nephew, William R. "Bill" Thornbury; and a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of Daniel's life will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40241. Burial will be private in Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood, Kentucky.

Memorials may be made to Westport Road Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
