She retired from International Harvester. She was a faithful member of The Southeast Christian Church as well as a longtime member of Woodhaven Country Club. Christell was an avid fan and supporter of U of L athletics and a member of the Central Cardinal Club.
Among those preceding her in death are her parents, Grover and Dora (Carter) McWhorter of Albany, Kentucky, sister, Hattie L. (McWhorter)Thrasher, brothers, Oscar McWhorter, Ralph McWhorter, Glenn McWhorter, Fred McWhorter, Lloyd McWhorter, Reed McWhorter, husband Edward Meeks, and husband, Leonard Curry.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one brother, Harold McWhorter of Albany, Kentucky, five step-children, several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Many nieces, nephews, and loyal friends.
She loved church, golf, traveling, enjoying various joyous occasions. She will be missed by many.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a funeral ceremony at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Southeast Christian Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
