In Memory Of
Juanita C. (White) Hollins
1928 - 2018
Juanita was born to the late Willie G. and Lula Belle White in Gray, Kentucky, on October 1, 1928. She married Raymond Hollins and moved to Louisville and then settled in New Albany. She was retired from Lorillard Inc., Louisville, Kentucky.
Juanita loved to garden and treasured watching the tiniest seed grow into the marvelous gift of beautiful flowers and food to enhance her gift of cooking. Her greatest joy was cooking, baking, and sharing the love of food, music and family. Her Christmas Open House was a labor of love to all who were gifted to be present. Old hymns and southern Gospel music were beloved. Her holiday festivities were filled with the joy of music, often sung in what was known as the key of Juanita. Her smile was infectious and graciously shared.
She was a member of New Beginnings Community Church and a mighty prayer warrior. As her days settled into sedentary, her prayer voice grew stronger for each child, grands, and a multitude of friends.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Raymond Hollins and Roy Stebe; daughters, Kaye Howard and Glenda Hartman; and grandson, David Howard.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Bell (Stephen), Teresa Keown (Joe), and Kimberly Paris (Phil); sons, James and Timothy (Tonya); son-in-law, Pete Howard; seventeen grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren; caretaker, Terri Barnes (David); brother, Ed White; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at New Beginnings Community Church (104 Wooded Way Drive, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 12:30 p.m. Entombment will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Juanita’s memory may be made to the Westminster Village Employee Gratuity Fund (2210 Greentree North, Clarksville, Indiana 47129).
