Joe Jr Woodard was born May 15, 1941, the only son of six children. He attended Seneca High School and then joined the Army in 1957. Joe Jr. was musically inclined and one of the best guitarist from Kentucky. He was self employed and loved what he did, laying asphalt. In his younger years he enjoyed boxing with his childhood friends, Cassius Clay and Joe Frazier. He was a very humble man and met no strangers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Woodard, Sr.; mother, Lou Frances Neblett; daughter, Traci Bland; grandson, Quinton Bland and sisters, Mary Catherine Wilson, Estherlene Keys and Betty Mae Lockett.

Joe Jr. leaves behind to cherish his memories, children, Darryl (Delisa) Hobbs, Anna (Tony) Price, Carolyn Jones, Tuwanna (Rheon) Leonard, Jacky Woodard and Shawn Tobin; sisters, Mary (Joe) Davis and Lula Tyree and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 3pm-6pm. A celebration of Joe's life will be Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 5 pm at the chapel of the funeral home.
