R. Nelson Inman, age 70, of Louisville, KY, died early in the morning on October 14, 2018.

He was a 1966 graduate of Elizabethtown High School where he excelled as a football player. He also played football one season for his beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats. In 1968 he was drafted into the Army and deployed to Vietnam where he was stationed in Saigon. After receiving an Honorable Discharge he returned to Elizabethtown and was employed with the S.C. Barnes Insurance Agency. He later moved to Louisville where he spent his remaining years.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Blondie Inman, also formally of Elizabethtown. He is survived by his companion of many years, Anne LaMaster and her family; daughters, Christian and Lauren (Aaron) and Anne’s grandchildren, Tyler, Shelby, Justine, and James. Anne’s son, Justin also preceded him in death.
Nelson is also survived by his siblings, Gary (Susie), Keith (Susan), and Cindy Groseclose and several nephews and nieces and their children.

Nelson was a kind hearted person who enjoyed being around the people he loved. He lived his life knowing he was loved by his family, his extended family and his friends.

He will live on in the hearts of those he has left behind.

Per Nelson's wishes cremation was chosen and burial will be held at a later date at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central (2501 North Dixie Blvd Radcliff, KY 40160).
