He was born on April 15, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to John Wesley Hatch and Anna Grace (Roberts) Cobb. He is preceded in death by his mother; step-father, William David "Sarge" Carr, Sr. ; grandmother, Mary Ella (Mae) Lyons; sisters, Rosalind Carr, and Cynthia (Cindy) Carr and brothers, William (David) Carr, Jr., Gary Carr, Mark Carr and James "Bucky" Carr.
Earl is survived by his daughters, Teri Carr, LaShonda Patrice Johnson, Brittney Samuels and Anna Carr-Adams; sons, Eric (Roxanne) Carr, Austin Carr, and Donte (Hilary)Persley; 14 grandchildren; father, John Hatch and his Pops, Alex Cobb Jr.; brothers, Marion (Charlotte) Carr, Charles Carr, Brian (Angel) Carr, Hiram (Velvet) Welch, Anthony Carr, Derrick (Jordan) Carr, and Terrence Carr; sisters, Yvonne Carr, Angie Welch, Latonya Carr, and Adrianne Carr, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Memorial Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Memorial Service will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday, following the memorial visitation.
