Joe Gillespie, 68, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 22, 2018 with family by his side. Joe had been a practicing attorney for 36 years.

He was born on May 17, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Joseph and LaVerne (Portman) Gillespie.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Gillespie, children Timothy Scott Gillespie, Steven Todd Lockridge (Karen), Scott Douglas Lockridge, brother David Gillespie (Valerie) and sister Judi Workman (Charles) and a host of other family and friends.

The family thanks Dr. Michael Driscoll, his medical oncologist, with special thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at Norton’s Audubon Cancer Institute.

In lieu of funeral services, the family requests that contributions in Joe’s memory be made to the Steven Vanover Foundation, 1448 Gardiner Ln, Ste 102, Louisville, KY 40213 or the Kentucky Humane Society.
