In Memory Of
Jane McKinley
1952 - 2018

Jane McKinley, 65, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 20, 2018.

She was born on December 9, 1952 in Covington, Kentucky to the late John Leming and Nancy (Gibson) Leming.

Jane was a 1970 graduate of Lloyd Memorial High School, where she met and dated Steve. After graduating high school she went to the University of Kentucky and obtained both a Bachelors in elementary education and a Masters in special education. In 1974 she and Steve married at Erlanger Baptist Church.

She began her teaching career at the Lexington Hearing and Speech Center and most recently retired in June of 2018 after 35 years of teaching. The last 18 years she spent at LaGrange Elementary as both classroom teacher and school librarian. She also loved her golden retrievers and trained them as reading assistance dogs to help children read.

While Jane was a dedicated teacher she also loved spending her summers at the Isle of Palms, visiting Disney World and traveling with her family, attending many UK sporting events (GO CATS!) and never missing anything her 2 grandchildren were involved in.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Steven McKinley, son, David McKinley, daughter, Lauren Case, grandchildren Hannah Jane Case and John Wilson Case, mother Nancy Leming, brother John Leming

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Student Center at Northeast Christian Church, (9900 Brownsboro Road Louisville, KY 40241).
