She was born on September 4, 1936, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Aaron and Sally (Leake) Thompson. Nancy was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Gettelfinger.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Sandifer, Jr.; children, Shannon Speth (Gary, Jr.), Scott Sandifer (Jane), and Andrew Sandifer (Carla); son-in-law, Bernard Gettelfinger; sister, Marie French; grandchildren, Samuel Speth, Sara Coleman, Julie Sandifer, Gregory and Lora Gettelfinger, and Andrea and Charles Sandifer; and great-granddaughter, Grace Gettelfinger.
Cremation was chosen. Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (415 East 8th Street, New Albany). She will be laid to rest privately at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Nancy’s memory be made to her church.
