Billie Catherine Dempsey Holcomb, Ed.D., 101, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.

She was born on December 30, 1916 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late Nulan and Susan (Jordan) Dempsey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kleiman Levi Holcomb, brother Col. Jack Taylor Dempsey, U.S. Army.

Billie lived in Norman, Oklahoma until moving to Louisville, Kentucky when she was 84 years of age. In Louisville she found new friends and family whom she loved. A very special heartfelt appreciation for the staff at Morning Pointe who loved Billie and continued to keep her happy and safe. Additionally the family would like to extend appreciation to Dr. Robert E. Ellis, M.D.

She is survived by her daughter, Melodie Susan (Lali) Holcomb, several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

The family requests that contributions may be made to the Donor's Choice in Billie's Honor.
