LD Flannery, 79, of New Salisbury, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018, at his home with his family and loving canine companion, his “baby girl” Buttons, by his side. He was the owner and operator of the Flannery Tree Service and Landscaping and loved fishing in his spare time. LD also enjoyed visiting with friends, having breakfast with the diner crew, and restoring and collecting antique cars.

He was born on September 16, 1938, in Beattyville, Kentucky, to the late John and Edith (Murphy) Flannery. Along with his parents, LD was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Jean Jackson; and siblings, Wanda Flannery, Judy Flannery, John Edward Flannery, Donnie Flannery, William Flannery, Imogene Hankins, and Lee Flannery.

LD is survived by his children, Stanley Flannery, Johnny Flannery, Edie Lile (David), Bryan Flannery (Penny), Janice McClure (Tony), and Shella Flannery (Jimi Dugan); 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Helen Heisel, Barb Brumfiel, Joan Schocke, and Patsy Hines (Mike); ex-wife, Patricia Griffin; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and will continue on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. until time of service. His Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in the chapel at the funeral home with cremation to follow.
