In Memory Of
Jana Carlene Fortwengler
1961 - 2017

Jana Carlene Fortwengler, 56, of Louisville Kentucky passed away Saturday December 16, 2017.

She was the Attendance Clerk at Noe Middle School. She is preceded in death by her brother Gregory and father Mount Higdon.

She is survived by her mother Lois, brother Tom, husband Steve, daughter Kaitlin, and son Lucas.

Jana was a long time advocate of special needs through Down Syndrome of Louisville and Special Olympics of Kentucky. She was an amazing friend to many and a second mother to a special few. Her door was always open and there was always a seat at her table.

She has touched the lives of many in her short time here from students to sorority sisters and friends, to random strangers. Heaven has gained its sassiest angel yet.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Down Syndrome of Louisville in her name.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg Indiana 47170.
