1936 - 2016

Onie Lonnell Merideth, 79, went to be with our Lord on February 8, 2016. She was a very loving and caring person, with an open heart that was always there for anyone. She enjoyed taking care of her house, loved spending time with her family and traveling back home to South Carolina to visit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Onie Eubanks, sons, George Wallace and Lonnie Ray Merideth; sisters, Hunky, Dot and Ada Marie and brothers, Odell, Wallace, L.A., Snuffy and Pete.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, George Merideth; children, Larry (Shirley) Merideth, Gail (Marq) Carlin, Libby (Billy) Wilcox and Lisa Merideth (John); grandchildren, Mike, Mark, Allan (Stacy), Carissa, Jason (Conni), Ryan (Sara), Regan (Rocco), and Brian; great-grandchildren, Logan, Alex, Roland, Whitney (Jake), Justin, Courtney, Daylon, Loreli, Yaya, Seren Jo, Mason, Madison, Milo and Maddox; 5 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth (Morris) Macklen; brother, Ted (Sally) Eubanks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2016, from 1pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of Lonnell's life will be Saturday, February 13, 2016, beginning at 10am at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home SW.

Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to Hosparus, 105 Diecks Drive, Elizabethtown, KY 42701, in honor of Lonnell's life.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Lonnell's doctors, nurses and Hosparus. and a very special thank you to John Barke and Shirley Merideth for taking such special and gentle care of her. This could not have been done without our church family at New Brandenburg Baptist Church and Bro. Tony Yates.
