Repsie Luke Clayton, 90, of Clarksville, IN passed away on February 7, 2016. Repsie was a veteran of the United States Army who served during World War II. He worked in the funeral industry for a number of years at Mason Funeral Home in Jeffersonville and then A.D. Porter & Sons in Louisville. He then worked as a driver for UPS before working over 20 years at the University of Louisville in the housekeeping department. Repsie was a long time member of Greater Salem Baptist Church in Louisville where he enjoyed singing in the men’s choir.

He was born in Jeffersonville, IN on April 11, 1925 to the late Roy & Hettie (Jones) Clayton. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Jo Ann Clayton; and brothers, Ernest Cochran & Lee Clayton.

Repsie is survived by his children, Marva Miles, Phyllis Rankin (Greg), Milton Clayton (Deborah), & Ronald Clayton (Maria); brother, Fletcher Clayton; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A Memorial Gathering will be from 10 AM to 11 AM on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will take place at 11 AM on Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at New Albany National Cemetery.
