1968 - 2015

Kimberly Lynn Bartlett Ashcraft, 46, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, October 7th, 2015, after a long fought battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was the daughter of Mary Bartlett.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Caitlyn (Lamont) Bailey and her grandson, David Bailey, III (Tre') & a granddaughter (Chloe) due in February, Louisville, KY; uncle, Leo Bartlett, aunt, Rhonda Hunter Bartlett, and several cousins and former in-laws with whom she still held dear to her heart.

Kim was born in Lexington, KY on December 15, 1968, but moved to the Louisville area in 1999 after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University with an Associate of Science degree in Health Information Technology. She worked as a medical coder for various hospitals and consulting companies for 14 years before retiring on disability due to the cancer.

Kim was an avid pool player and was active in two pool leagues in Louisville for as long as her health permitted. She really enjoyed playing and beating the higher skill level players. In addition to pool, Kim enjoyed photography, painting, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. One of Kim's favorite memories was playing pool in the APA 2014 National 8-Ball Tournament and meeting Jeanette Lee.

Kim was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Porter Bartlett, uncle Leon Mitchell Bartlett, and uncle George Porter Bartlett. A memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Sunday, October 11th, 2015, with a release of pink, green, and turquoise balloons afterwards. In lieu of flowers, Kim requests that donations be made to either the Norton Cancer Institute in Louisville, Kentucky or Metavivor.org.
