Charles E. Black, age 88 of Louisville, passed away at Signature of Cherokee Park on Friday, March 6, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Thelma; son, Larry; his parents, John and Eleanor Black; and his sister, Evelyn Brooks.

Charlie is survived by his son Rick (Peggy); granddaughters, Ashleigh Willinger (Corey) and Lindsey; sisters, Virginia “Ginnie” Welsh and Ruthie Mullins Rosenbaum; and a host of family and friends.

Mass of celebration will be 11am Monday, March 9, 2015 at Church of the Incarnation, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace in Louisville, KY. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 8th from 12-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive. A private burial service will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hosparus, and especially his nurse Sam, caregivers at Magnolia Springs and Signature Healthcare of Cherokee Park for the wonderful care they provided.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Crusade for Children, American Heart Association or Hosparus.
