Robert Lee “Bob” Coleman, age 76 of Louisville, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at River View Nursing Home in Clarksville, IN. He was the former manager of the cafeteria at Norton Hospital Downtown. He later owned and operated Calendrino’s Restaurant at 4th and Oak and also operated Chico’s Mexican Restaurant. While in Florida, he managed a club until it was damaged by a hurricane, then became involved in the Outbound Program. Bob was a member of Mount Holly Methodist Church, and was an outgoing and caring Christian man who felt his purpose in life was to help others. Everyone who met him felt this and respected him. For years he provided care for his sisters, Marjorie Hyde and Bettie Burns and her husband Elliott, for which his family will never forget. Bob was preceded in death by his son, William Brian Coleman; parents, Isabelle Mastin and Daniel Coleman; sisters, Norma Baldry, Edna Miller and Marjorie Hyde; and his first wife, the mother of William, Beverly Montford.
Bob is survived by his loving siblings, Bettie C. Burns, James. A Coleman (Janice), and Barry Michael Coleman (Theresa); grandson, Robert Connor Coleman; 2nd wife, Sherry Coleman; nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Mount Holly Methodist Church, 804 Mount Holly Road, Louisville, Kentucky. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mount Holly Methodist Church or to the donor’s favorite charity.
