Vernon Charles "Pat" Malone
1931 - 2018

Vernon Charles Malone, 86, of Bloomfield, Kentucky passed away peacefully on June 10, 2018.

He was born on July 18, 1931 in Irene, South Dakota and was known as “Pat” to family and friends. During his early school age years his family was involved in construction of roads in his home state. This involved living in mobile campsites and receiving some of his early education in schools located on Indian reservations. He met and married Mary Louise Mattie from Billings, Montana. They were married for nearly 60 years. Pat worked in many different industries and management levels; aeronautics, plant manager for valve castings and foundries to name a few. These different positions required Pat to travel and conduct business in many different countries outside of the United States.

In the early 90’s Pat left his position with Crane Manufacturing in Washington, Iowa and he and Mary Lou settled in Finchville, Kentucky. After semi retiring and settling in Kentucky, Pat worked as a realtor for Kentucky Land Co. where he completed his working career.

Pat was involved in breeding and showing Appaloosa horses in the mid 70’s and 80’s and became involved with breeding and raising several different western breeds of horses throughout his later years.

Pat was born to the late Charles and Amanda (Ausdemore) Malone. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise Malone and sons Michael and Kevin Malone.

Pat leaves behind his caregivers Ruby (Greg), Tasha and Shaylah Redmon, granddaughters, Katie Malone and Haley Malone, his nephew, Charles Malone (Dot), nieces Roxanne Oyler (Larry), Michelle Mattingly (Pat), Kathy Strause (Marty). A special thanks to Ruby and Tasha for their love care and support.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Sunday July 1, 2018, 3pm, at G & R Farm, 1721 Ashes Creek Lane, HWY 2450, Bloomfield, KY 40008. All relatives, friends, and acquaintances are welcome to attend.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society and the Parkinson’s Foundation.
