Gene Thompson , 86, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on April 15, 2018. He retired from Fort Knox.

Eugene was born on June 6, 1931, in Greensburg, Kentucky to the late Ishom and Abba(Warren) Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Clara Helen Thompson; brother, Herman Thompson, sisters, Blanche Devers and Beulah Bernard, daughter, Eugenia Eads, and granddaughter, Donna Pearman.

Eugene is survived by his children, Duane Thompson, Becky Cantrell, Sheila Grubb, Chuck Thompson; step- children Terry Orr, Joyce Reed, Arthur Vaughn and Anita Mathis; son-in-law, Galen Eads and twelve great grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). His Funeral Ceremony will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Moriah (Magnolia) Kentucky.
