He graduated from Carmel High School in Carmel Indiana in 1967, retired from Clarke, and was a member of Middletown United Methodist Church.
Michael was born on April 6, 1948, Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lowell and Katharine (Matzke) Sullivan. He was also preceded in death by his brother David Sullivan and sister Shirley Darling.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Deborah Kay (Dawson) Sullivan; children, Michael (Jamie), David (Kim), and Mark. He is survived by three grandsons; Brendon, Cameron, and Cooper and five granddaughters; Riley, Shannon, Reese, Ella, and Zoe. He is also survived by sisters Susan Klingerman (Max) and Patricia Eckhart (Tom) and brother Scott Sullivan.
He had a passion for his family and close relationship with all of his grandchildren. Michael had attended the Indianapolis 500 consecutively for the last 34 years and valued sharing his love for the Speedway with his family every May.
All services will be held at Middletown United Methodist Church, with visitation being held on Thursday April 19th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday April 20th from 9:00 am to 10:00am with a Celebration of Life service immediately following at 10:00 am.
