Mai was born on December 26, 1930 in Middletown, Kentucky to the late Virgil and Georgie Rider. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Parker; three sons, Anthony, William and Frank Parker; son-in-law, Billy Canty; and five siblings.
Mai is survived by her children, Denise Melone (Larry), Daniel Parker (Mary), Mary Ann Canty, Stephen Parker, Jana Miller (Matt), Angela Parker and Olivia Parker; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243), a brief memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with visitation to resume until 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family of Mai would like to give a special thank you to her two caregivers, Necy Porter and granddaughter, Monica Rose. The two of you filled mom's last years with love and laughter, we couldn't have done it without you two!
In loving memory of Mai, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
