Melvin Gene "Bob" DeLaney
1937 - 2018

Melvin Gene DeLaney (Bob) 80 years old a resident of Goshen Kentucky and former employee of Woodhaven Nursing Facility and Norton Healthcare passed away at Norton Brownsboro Hospital on March 6th 2018. Bob thoroughly enjoyed his work and was proud of his accomplishments. He worked in a hospital setting for most of his entire life and insured excellence any employer would receive. In addition to his love of family and especially his grandchildren, Kaelly, Hannah, Addison, Sophia and Patience . He enjoyed nature and the pleasure of being outdoors. Bob love to watch the fruit that bared his garden that he shared with friends and family ,it was for giving as well as pride. Bob eptomized strength, discipline, honesty and caring throughout his life. He had a love of music that was untouchable Bob loved to play the guitar for his family and sang his notes for everyone to smile. He was a true comedian and storyteller that always made everyone that surrounded him not only beam but laugh with tears in their eyes. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Martha; his children, Kelly DeLaney (Thomas Babichuk) and Mark DeLaney (Deborah); his grandchildren, Kaelly Sidebottom (Travis), Hannah, Addison, Sophia and Patience; many siblings, and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 11am -1pm on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, with a celebration of Bob's life at 1pm.
